Hi to all, I start to install a new mail system the University where i do work. Start my journey with Senamail, Post fix and just found trouble. Studing a lot deeper found Qmail a non so free (freedom) mail system with a lot of avantages and well coments over the net.

I do start to considering it because i need to manage a lot of domains to mail and it show that it work with that very easy. Qmail set up like my first choice. The start process let me know that no one enterpise linux distro include that but its really an enterprise level mail transport or system i dont know how named correctly. So i found an incredible guide to make install easy (FOR EXPERIMENTED LINUX ADMINISTRATORS) and quick and i want to share with all here. I tried the step by step approach, but after having to install it on 20+ machines, I opted for an easier isntall method. Check out This site has a script that does ALL the downloading, installing, setup, configuration, etc for the entire install. When you are done, you have a full working Qmail and Squirrelmail server. After the install I am unable to connect to any other machine on my network in any protocol, nor can I connect to the machine on which I installed qmail toaster from other network machines.

I Flushed iptables and turned INPUT, OUTPUT, and FORWARD to ACCEPT and still no success. I can connect to the services on the qmail machine from the machine itself; however, not form any other machine on the network.

I used tcpdump to view incoming packets to the qmail toaster machine and I'm seeing something like clamav might be stopping incoming packets. Could this be?

All that being said Iam still unable to reply to email from yahoo at this time I have sendmail working about half way.

Default email account is yahoo. Here is how it's working email from yahoo acct to server acct works just fine. If I do a reply to the email it goes off into cyber space and I never see it again. So Im thinking it's a Auth thing but have spent way to much time as it is doing the auth sasl thing with sendmail but that being said the Qmail installs were a total wipe out of my system operation so thats off the chart. Also from the script the /usr/qmail/control dir never did get installed and a few other items as well I think they need to maybe look a little better at the install options that are not maybe as close to what the script was made from.

Any way sorry to hear we all have had a battle with qmail is sounded like the answer but after the trash of some system functions this is not the one of me.
