I really appreciate everyone's reply and tips I can use. One of my big loves is horses. My bank account won't allow me to have one of my own, but used to have quarter horses as a youth and showed in western pleasure classes. Anyway, I wanted to ask if anyone loves horses or has any so we can talk about horses. The county fair is coming in August and the first thing I head for is the horse arena and watch the horses being shown and performing in the arena.

I also love the rodeo. Where I live in Ventura, I cannot even see horses unless I go to the fair or drive up to Ojai. I love talking about horses and chat with other horse lovers whether you are owners or not. How I wish I could climb up in the saddle and go for a ride. The next best thing is the fair and watching them on TV (I love westerns, too).

Hopefully, when I move back to Washington, I will not only s lil dixie Posted at 19:19:41 [No Email] hey yall, well im a huge horse fan too i used to have 2 paints and 1 bay but when i moved i had to get rid of them because i didnt have enough land well i would love to chat with you about horses! Lil dixe sophie Posted at 12:39:34 hello, i was wondering something. I am about to buy a horse but i am around 5'8 and the horse is 15hh. Is the horse a bit small and if so, what height should i be aiming for?

Sophie x M.R. Posted at 06:05:48 [No Email] Hi Tori: If you get moved to Walla Walla before the first part of Sept. Not to far away is Enterprise, Oregon where the Hell's Canyon Mule Days will be going on. There are a few pretty good mules here if you'ld like to see how well they work and preform.

Also just a few miles from Enterprise is Wallow Lake, there is a gondola here that one can ride to the top of Mt Howard in the Eagle Cap Wilderness and view a lot of pretty country, even see the Seven Devils across the Snake River over in Idaho. Shanna Posted at 18:46:51 I think that you will fit perfect with a horse that is 15hh!!!:+) Tori Kaufmann Posted at 11:24:47 HI M.R.; The Hell's Canyon Mule Days sound like fun and would love to attend and watch the mules, however, I will probably not get up that way until after Christmas there abouts. I also like to take those scenic trips you talked about. They sound gorgeous. I love natural scenery.

These things will just have to wait until I get there. I am sure it will all be there waiting for me.

I love the drive over the Cascade Range from Western Washington (where my mom lives) to Walla Walla. It is amazing how you are driving in the rain and just as you start heading down the mountains and into Eastern Washington, the sun is warm and bright. The scenery is beautiful all the way. I love the wheatfields and farmlands and the mountain scenery as well. It is sad to see a lot of these places being bulldozed for housing and development. I will check out the places you suggested when I am settled in Walla Walla.

Thank you for telling me about them. Monica Duncan Posted at 05:52:17 Once you get settled in, I suggest you put an add in the local paper and offer to 'share expenses', or 'part-board' someone's horse. Often, a person has his horse in a riding stable and does not get out often enough to ride it, and the horse stays cooped up in its stall most days. Palisade risk training. Those people would be more than happy to have someone ride their horse 2 or 3 times a week, often for free and sometimes for sharing a proportional amount of the horse's expenses. Be sure to tell them exactly what your experience is (you never 'forget' how to ride), so that you get a horse to match your exerience.
